A Family Photo Shoot To Remember
I love family photography and creating timeless portraits for my clients. Every person I photograph is unique in his or her own way, and each session is special to me. And then there are those photo shoots that come along and remind me why I do what I do. It was in celebration of the younger boy’s 6-month birthday, who I also photographed as a newborn. The family had purchased my baby plan, which includes 3 sessions in the baby’s first year of life. Baby plans are ideal for parents who want their child’s first year documented in a professional, gradual way. They receive consistent photography with each session and the end result looks incredible in their family heirloom album. I love getting to see those adorable little faces return months later, as they’ve grown throughout that first year. It is such an honor to get to know these families more and more with each session. I am given an intimate look inside a growing family, which is a privilege that is never lost on me.
This photo shoot was at the end of April. It was chilly in Chicago, with no leaves on the trees just yet. Despite this less than perfect weather, this family braved the chill together and we had so much fun that we barely noticed it was cold outside. The simplicity of the environment allowed for a powerful monochromatic style to the photos.
Each family member stands out against the background in the best possible way.
Not to mention that these boys are just as sweet as can be. The little one smiles with his whole body and is so joyful. His older, toddler-aged brother is no different. Even though photographing children is not always the easiest, these boys were so fun and did amazingly well! (Knock on wood for the next session! ) And their parents couldn’t be kinder, gentler, or more loving. The warmth shared between them can be felt through their images.
Can you feel the joy and love that exudes through these portraits and tells this family’s story? I know I can.
I can’t wait to capture them again when the little one turns 1-year-old this fall!
